Iowa Foreclosure Listings

It was once said that the best part of Iowa is when you finally cross the border into one of the neighboring states. That is because as you drive across the state either east to west or west to east it is a long flat drive bordered quite often with rows and rows of nothing but corn stalks.

Iowa Foreclosure Listings There is little in Iowa with the exception of farmland. The largest cities in the state of Iowa are Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport. The thing is that even if you put all of the population of those three cities together you still have less population than a lot of the cities on the east coast, which are considered larger. And I am not eve talking New York City here.

To a lot of people that is seen as a minus for the state but most people like the fact that there is so much land out there where there are more acres per people than people per acre. This to most people is a huge advantage of Iowa as a place to settle down and live. It is flat and that means that no matter what you save on gas over some of the hillier states. And with today’s prices that is a great plus.

For the most part the state of Iowa is entirely dependant on the money made on large farms. There are scattered industries across the state that supplies jobs but for the vast majority of people here, the family economic budget is built on farm income.

Foreclosure laws in Iowa give no right of redemption and no ability for the lender to get a judgement for the deficiency and the Iowa foreclosure listing averages approximately 150 days to complete.

The actual sale of the property is done via public auction, which is administered by the local sheriff between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. At this time the sheriff reads all bids including those sealed bids presented with needed fees. Any unsuccessful bids will have the monies returned to the bidders

The sale may be postponed, but if postponed for more than three days, the new sale date must be publicly announced on the original sale date.
